Downtown Logan Christmas Lights and Parade
The county courthouse in Logan is lit up for Christmas in festive lights, a tradition going back to 1939. Resident James D. Wells was reportedly employed by the State of Ohio and 9 children. Without much money, he wanted to celebrate the holidays with his family so he paid tribute by designing and creating light structures to hang on the courthouse and lights to illuminate Main Street. Bowen House Festival of Trees
The Bowen House is a historic home built in 1831 and is now a nonprofit center for cultural arts and special events. Their mission is to offer social activities in the area. Santa Train
Come on board for the longest-running annual event in Hocking Hills, the Santa Train. Trains start late November after Thanksgiving and run every Saturday and Sunday through mid December. Two trains leave the Nelsonville Depot for the North Pole featuring Santa on board and visits with each child as the train travels through the picturesque Hocking River Valley. Every child, grandparent, parent, and relative will love this annual tradition.
