HEMLOCK BRIDGE TO WHISPERING CAVE

HEMLOCK BRIDGE TO WHISPERING CAVE

Whispering Cave is one of the newest trails in Hocking Hills. While it is unfortunately still closed due to the construction of the new Park Lodge, Whispering Cave offers hikers a bit more of a challenge due to the inclines and narrow trail. The trailhead is located in the parking lot of the Hocking Hills Dining Lodge, which caught fire and burned down in 2016. The new lodge is expected to be a wonderful improvement and should be finished before the 2022 hiking season (we hope).

Whispering Cave is divided into two separate trails. The trek begins on the Hemlock Bridge Trail, which forks offering the choice of descending to the massive recess cave known as Whispering Cave, or up to a stunning view of the Hocking Hills State Park forest canopy. The 300 foot wide recess cave is a beautiful sight to behold, particularly thanks to its waterfall that is over 100 feet high.
