Hiking
Peak viewing time varies but around mid-October is when colors are in full bloom. Ohio fall foliage can last a long time but expect to see some colors in November and some crisp, cool weather to go along with it. Check out the weekly report on fall colors.
Cantwell Cliffs
Cantwell Cliffs is in the northern area of Hocking Hills, known for high cliffs and a rock shelter. Picturesque beauty is how many describe the narrow passages and cliff views of Hocking Hills. Unlike other areas of the park, the cliffs hiking trail has walls of moss covered rock with stone paved stairways and passages. Hikers who love a challenge will love this hike. Two trails at the gorge and rim routes will take hikers a mile or two (combined) through beautiful scenery inside the park and views from the cliffs of Hocking Hills.
Cedar Falls
Cedar Falls is a quick hike in for views of the scenery surrounding Hocking Hills. A popular hike, there are hemlocks, gorgeous cascading waterfalls and dramatic cliffs to add mystery and adventure to your hike. Hike from the main parking area for a 3 mile circuit. Don’t miss the beautiful namesake falls, which can be found hiking through beautiful woods and trees to find the top of the waterfall. Bring good hiking boots with traction.

Full Moon Zipline Tours
Prefer to be far above the canopy for the best views of Hocking Hills? Check out Moonshine Zipline Tour for guided tours at night. Join other trekkers for a 2-hour nocturnal tour to see creatures after dark in their natural surroundings. Six ziplines take you across the treetops with lighting equipment for a popular tour of the other side of Hocking Hills after dark.

Prefer a bit of live music and wine? Why not try out beautiful Hocking Hills Winery, right in Logan, Ohio. Family owned and operated, the Hocking Hills winery serves up delicious local wines from Ash Cave Crimson to Hocking River Red and more, these grapes won’t disappoint. Come for the wine but stay for the music and enjoy the sounds of local musicians as you sip and nibble to your heart’s content.
Blown Glass Art
Get blown away by this beautiful glass studio in Hocking Hills. Watch glass being blown up close with molten lava right at your fingertips, going from gooey to gorgeous pieces of art. Demonstrations occur daily, walk the gallery of existing pieces or book ahead for a seasonal experience of blowing your own pieces to take home. Santa Train
November is definitely the fall season but a preparatory one for upcoming holidays. Don’t miss the longest-running annual event in Hocking Hills, Santa Train. Trains start departing the station Saturday, November 26 and continue through December 18th. Two trains leave Nelsonville Depot and go round trip to East Logan and back. An evening train is also available. Trains feature Santa on board with visits to the children as you travel historic Hocking River Valley. Heated and decorated, Christmas music plays as Santa brings a peppermint treat for kids. Popular, so book early!
