Ravenwood Castle
Ravenwood Castle was inspired by castles in Europe, specifically England and Wales. In 1994, the main castle building was started and completed in 1995. The original design was for some guest rooms but more kept being added and cottages were also added to the village for guests. Sue and Jim Maxell owned the property for 17 years and kept old English charm picked up from travels across England’s countryside. Today it operates as a B&B with old-style flair and new accommodations and events to keep families busy and having fun creating unique memories.
Quiet Getaway
Coming to the castle is an experience in itself. Experience the beautiful landscape of Hocking Hills in addition to the parks and national forests surrounding the castle. Fantastic hiking is available for families who want to get away from life for a little respite. Families love the disconnected nature of being at the castle and spending unplugged time away with family.
Cottages
The Medieval Village has nine cottages, each unique for families to choose from. Try Cinderella’s Coach House (be sure to be home by midnight) or the Clock Tower, among others. Accommodations have a kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge, and accommodations for you to enjoy. In the valley is a short hike to Huntsman’s Hollow Cabins. Each cabin is situated around a private fire pit circle with five swinging benches. This space is great for families or groups wanting a unique experience. Screened-in porches are available on each of these cabins. Every cabin has a unique style on the inside and has kitchenettes with microwaves and more.

Breakfast is included in all regular room rentals, served in the Great Hall styled after the old English halls. Reservations are required for meals later in the day. Try a cinnamon roll or traditional breakfast. Lunch and dinner options are available along with food from Raven’s Roost Pub. Here you can try a drink, sit by the fireside for a chat or try your hand at a board game. Off-site dining is available nearby for those who want to explore the surrounding area.
