Historical Fun
Going back to the 1900s, the Circleville Pumpkin Show entertained families as a street fair. The exhibit was mostly focused on pumpkins but steadily grew into what it is today. In 1946, a non-profit organization was formed to take over operations and keep things running smoothly. Thousands of visitors from all over the United States come to enjoy four days of pumpkin fun and frivolity.
Enjoy the Show
The Circleville Pumpkin Show takes place October 19-22, 2022. Admission is free to the public with the downtown streets of Circleville, Ohio turned into a majestic wonderland. Just 30 miles south of Columbus, the Pumpkin Show offers pumpkins everywhere, including food such as pie and donuts, burgers, and even pizza! Don’t forget to try some pumpkin chili and other goodies on sale.
Pumpkin Contests
Pumpkin growers compete to see who has the largest pumpkins on the land with the previous winner topping off at 1850.5 pounds. There were almost 40 entries for the pumpkin contest in 2021. The Great Pumpkin Weigh-in starts on Wednesday, October 19. 2022. Among other things is a Fine Art Show for enthusiasts and lots of locally grown pumpkins, squash, fruit, and produce including pies for the pie eating contest. Try some local baked goods by Lindseys Bakery, on-site to offer treats for all your sugar needs.
Entertainment for All Ages
Enjoy any of the 7 parades scheduled for the 4-day event, each with a different theme. At 3:30 pm and 8 pm, parades take place except on Saturdays. Amusement rides are offered with something for all ages. Retail and craft items are for sale across the event and a live entertainment stage offers shows and music to keep everyone tapping their toes. Some other aspects of entertainment not to be missed include the Miss Pumpkin Show, Pet Parade, and Pumpkin Show Community Band Concert, to name a few.

A visit to the pumpkin show wouldn’t be complete without a stay at one of the amazing accommodations nearby.
